| Established in 1874, Piaget always has a diverse offering of watches in its
collection. On the high dollar side of Piaget watches, at Sothebys in April 1997, a
Piaget extra-flat watch worn by Jackie Kennedy fetched $55,000. In addition to the
glittering gem set wonders, Piaget also offers simple elegant designs for men and women in
ultra-thin mechanical and quartz watches. The new Piaget Emperador collection features beautiful tonneau shaped watches with eight-day manual wind movements. The dial design incorporates a jumping hour display with center minute hand, sub-seconds and a subtle power reserve on an elegantly engraved white dial. The 18k white gold face is on a black crocodile strap. The shape of todays Emperador is inspired by a Piaget design from 1958a shape that has earned its classic designation by being as attractive and timeless today as it was in its previous incarnation. Another mechanical offering from Piaget is the rectangular lAncienne collection. The softly rounded rectangle displays a power reserve time date and sub-seconds on a modern Roman numeral display dial. LAncienne is available cased in 18k white or pink gold and will be limited to 125 pieces. The Dancer by Piaget has a bracelet design that takes a rounded link theme to create a statement. The suppleness of the bracelet echoes this feeling. With or without added diamonds, the Dancer is an elegant watch with Piaget panache. |
