|Jane Taylors breakthrough
design, the Chubby Bezel, takes the concept of the bezel and redefines it with a
voluptuous roundness. The result is a striking work in 18k white or yellow gold and
gemstones (mostly diamonds) that has a pillowy softness while enhancing the fire at the
heart of the diamond. Taking her design several steps further, her Pave Chubby Bezel
sparkles in all directions.
Entranced with her grandmothers jewelry since she was five years old, Jane got an early start in her career as a designer of fine jewelry. After attending Arts College in Baltimore, she spent 15 years honing her craft with many leading manufacturers. In 1994, she took the plunge and started her own business with her signature jewelry designs.
Her Chubby Bezel design won her notice almost immediately. In an inspired departure from the conventional use of the bezel in jewelry design, she successfully turned the bezel into a vehicle for emphasizing the shape, color and beauty of the gemstones she selects. Her Basic Chubby Bezel features a single gemstone and three-dimensional bezel crafted in 18k white or yellow gold. Her Pave Chubby Bezel features a bezel with diamond melee. Another trademark Jane Taylor design is her Hinge-Klick earring closure. Initially used on her Basic Chubby Bezel earrings, the Hinge-Klick is a more secure fastener than open wires or posts.
Her innovative style and fresh designs have earned her the accolades of the trade. In 1999, she won the DeBeers Diamond Today award for her Right-Hand Cluster Ring, and in 1996 her Hinge Klick design took top honors. In 1997, she was given the Spectrum Award from the AGTA for her unique use of colored gemstones.
The unique result of a Jane Taylor design is a striking piece set in 18k white or yellow gold and gemstones (mostly diamonds) that has a pillowy softness while enhancing the fire at the heart of the diamond.
